Two Birds One Stone

What’s going on friend? Are you learning more, are you becoming better, are you celebrating your freedom?  I hope that your answer to one or all of the aforementioned questions is YES.  This week I want to talk to you about maximizing your efficiencies through a common idiom known as “Kill Two Birds With One Stone”. This saying has great meaning as it challenges us to think of ways in which we can work to become more efficient in our daily processes. Two Birds With One Stone means that you able to accomplish two tasks at the same time.

I have learned through working to become better that time is the most precious resource that we have, and where we spend our time is where we will grow the most. Since there is only so much time in one day and hundreds of tasks and activities that need to be accomplished, it is imperative that we learn how to maximize our time efficiency by grouping similar tasks and multitasking where possible. Multitasking is the ability to perform more than one task or activity over a short period of time. In example this may be the ability to choose a dry cleaner that shares the parking lot of your preferred grocery store, or for some, it may be the opportunity to take a significant other along with you on a business trip so that you can spend more time together.

There are different thoughts on the topic of multitasking as some say that it is an inefficient waste of time versus an efficient use of time because you are not able to dedicate sole focus to one activity. The truth is that multitasking absolutely works to help you become more efficient, however, the best results occur when the activities that are being managed together are ones that can be done effectively with others.  Image result for kill two birds with one stone quote
